Bangles - stacking, sizing and styling!

WHERE THE IDEA FOR MY MAGNETIC ‘WANGLE BANGLES’ CAME FROM…

Each resin bangle is cast using a silicone mould. During the casting process I inlay a magnet into each bangle. They are gorgeous to wear individually, but they are also very happy when they have another ‘Wangle Bangle’ to stick to! But how on earth did this start?

I first started playing around with my ‘Wangle Bangles’ way back in 2002, my postgraduate year at Edinburgh College of Art.

Back then my idea was to use the repelling action of the magnets. I wanted to create bangles or body pieces that could ‘float’ on the arm or body. I soon realised that the magnets were much happier attracting each other than repelling. Then it clicked…just go with it…bangles that stick together!

Across the years I have changed designs, introduced new colours, and really worked hard on perfecting the smooth, tactile finish that you lot love!

MAKING A CHUNKY RESIN BANGLE

YOU WON’T HAVE A BANGLE THAT WILL FIT ME…

I’m up for the challenge from those of you who seem to think it’s impossible to find a bangle to fit you! These resin bangles come in 4 different sizes and are a bit wonky in their shape so are quite forgiving on sizing, so I can usually find a bangle for you!

The bangle sizing on the website is based on the inner diameter of the bangle, so if you already have a bangle (doesn’t need to be a KAZ bangle) just measure across at the widest point to get the closest size.

If you don’t have another bangle to check the size of, you can measure the circumference of your hand at the widest part with your thumb tucked in tightly as if you were about to put a bangle on. With a tailor’s measuring tape, you can even use string, you can then put your circumference into this calculator and it will give you the diameter. You can then select your bangle size based on this.

If you’re still unsure about sizing you can always get in touch with me, or even visit one of my stockists to try one on.

STYLING…

I love seeing the combinations you choose for stacking up your bangles. Some of you like to keep it minimal, matching the colours and patterns. Others like to go crazy mixing all the colours and all the spots and stripes! There is no right or wrong way, just what works for you! My only suggestion would be that you have fun with them!

What do you prefer? Keeping them minimal or maxing up all the colours and patterns? Leave your comments in the box at the bottom I love hearing what you all think!

TEMPTED…?

Don’t just trust me that these bangles are brilliant, here’s what some of the KAZ fans are saying about them…

“This is my fourth Kaz bangle and I love it as much as the other three!. The craftsmanship is impeccable and the piece fits perfectly and is very comfortable. I love Kaz's colorways and design sensibility. She is a very talented artisan!”

“Love Kaz's work. Already have a few bangles and earrings. Kaz will happily do a bangle in your size if not in stock. Very obliging. Really nice colours in this bangle.”

“Fabulous as usual: great colours, lovely smooth finish and comfortable to wear.”
